Introduction

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is the breathing oxygen at an increased level of pressure - (hyper) means increased, (baric) means pressure. HBOT raises the levels of oxygen in the body's blood plasma which leads to higher amounts of oxygen being delivered to the body's tissues, organs and brain.

Hyperbaric chamber is used to assist a lot of conditions from traumatic head injury to stroke to diabetes ulcers to athletic recovery and way more. It is used a lot in the USA and Europe.

The treatment consists of breathing in pure oxygen through a face mask sitting or lying normally and comfortably in a chamber which is increased to a predefined pressure for a period of time ranging between 60 and 120 minutes.
